The most common offenders in this regard are antidepressants, antihistamines, epileptic medications, anti-psychotics and beta-blockers. These medicines can inhibit the production of saliva in the mouth. If you must take these medicines, you have to make sure that you are sipping water regularly and using remedies to increase the flow of saliva in the mouth.

Health conditions
Certain health conditions can also result in the dryness of mouth. The most infamous health condition which is known for affecting the salivary glands and causing dry mouth is the Sjogren's syndrome. If the underlying cause of dry mouth is a health condition, you can get that condition treated to increase the flow of saliva in your mouth.
